New Wine 2010

New Wine 2010

Today, about 30 people from St George’s Church will be joining thousands of others at a summer conference at the Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet.

We camp in a group, together with some of our friends from St James Gerrards Cross. We will enjoy loads of time together: meals, games and long chats into the nights. We will suffer together from sleepless nights, sunburn/constant rain, and lack of showers. We will spend loads of time worshipping God with loads of other Christians. We all really hope to benefit from hearing great bible teachers.

Here’s some information from the New Wine website.

Main Meetings

“The main morning Bible teaching at LSE will be led by Simon Ponsonby, Pastor of Theology at St Aldates, Oxford. Nick Drake, Eoghan Heaslip and David Ruis will be leading worship. John and Jenny Peters and the team from St Mary’s Bryanston Square will be leading Venue 2, with Brenton Brown and Nick Herbert leading worship.”

“For LSE, there’s God’s view of the recession & our Kingdom opportunity, Growing in faith to see healing happen, Civil liberties, God & radicalilation, Winning at work without losing in life, Apocalypse now, Vital signs of a healthy church, Dawkins, Hitchens & Pullman: engaging the New Atheism, Is God homicidal? When family life is tough, Climate change: boring, untrue, irrelevant? Let’s play the dating game, Staying sane when your diary goes mad, Recognising & dealing with conflict, Sex bomb: sex in today’s culture, and many more.”

For some of us, New Wine has been an annual event for many years. For others, this is our first time. We’ll be sure to feedback all that we’ve learnt and enjoyed to the rest of the church when we get back. If you haven’t been able to come this year, make sure to book the dates in your diary for next year. It will be in the last week of July 2011.
