Harvest 2017

Thank you to all who contributed to the Harvest Service.  It all came together for a very good morning.  The Young People’s drama was particularly worth watching.  The display of produce was also outstanding.  The food donated is now being distributed to local charities.

Night Shelter

Last night St. George’s opened as a night shelter for the homeless.  It is something we will be doing each Saturday night from now until the end of March.  With other churches doing the same, on other nights, there is provision in the Slough area every night for these coldest months of the year. Supporting other churches

On Saturday 10th September a team from St. George’s took part in Buckinghamshire Historic Churches Trust’s sponsored ‘Ride and Stride’.  The church building was also opened to offer refreshments to those taking part from other churches, as they cycled or walked by.  It was a great day.  Thank you to all who were involved.

First Cream Tea of Summer

Saturday 4th June (pm) The church was open for cream teas. This was an ideas chance for church members and visitors to sit, chat and get to know one another better. Here’s hoping that it marked the start of a great summer!

Visit from our local MP

Saturday 4th June (am) We are grateful to Fiona Mactaggart (MP) for finding time, in her busy schedule, to come and talk to us about the upcoming EU referendum. Members of the church and visitors from the wider community all appreciated the opportunity to both listen and ask questions.

OMF Indonesia

We had and excellent time on Sunday as Janice, from OMF, shared with us some of her experiences in Indonesia. It was particularly good that she was able to take questions from our young people and tell them about some of the openings available for short term mission trips.
